Paneer tikka masala is an Indian dish of marinated paneer cheese served in a spiced gravy. It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka masala.

  3. 1 onion
  4. 1 capsicum
  5. 1/2 bowl hung curd
  6. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  7. 1 tbsp corn flour
  8. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  10. As per taste salt
  11. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  12. 2 pinch nutmeg powder
  13. For preparing masala:
  14. 1 onion
  15. 4 tomatoes
  16. 1 piece ginger
  17. 10-12 cashew nuts
  18. 2 cloves
  19. 1 piece cinnamom stick
  20. 2 Green cardamoms
  21. as per taste Salt
  22. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  23. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  24. 1/4 tsp coriander seeds powder
  25. 1/4 tsp garam masala
  26. 1 bowl water
  27. 1 tbsp cooking oil
  28. 1 tbsp butter
  29. 1 tbsp kasuri methi
  30. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Steps to make to make Paneer Tikka Masala

  1. Mix cornflour, turmeric, red chili, coriander seeds powder garam masala, nutmeg powder, and chili-ginger garlic paste in hung curd and mix well.
  2. Cut paneer in cubes. Cut onion into 4 pieces and separate its layers. Cut capsicum into square pieces. Marinate it well with hung curd mixture and refrigerate it for 2 hours.
  3. Wash, peel and chop onion, tomato, ginger, and garlic and transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add cloves, black pepper seeds, and cinnamon sticks. Add 1/2 bowl of water and pressure cook till 2 whistles. Switch off the flame.
  4. Let pressure release automatically and allow it to cool to room temperature and then grind it to a smooth paste.
  5. Heat oil and butter in a wok. Add tomato onions paste and let it simmer on low flame till it turns thick.
  6. In the meanwhile shallow fry marinated paneer pieces and onion, capsicum squares till golden.
  7. Masala gets thick and oil separate from wok. Add 1/2 bowl of water and cook till it boils.
  8. Crush Kasuri methi between your palms and mix. Now add marinated and fried paneer onion and capsicum.
  9. Add chopped coriander leaves and cook till curry gets thick.
  10. Serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves and slit green chili.
